8-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Climb – Rongai Route

8 Days

The Rongai Route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, near the Kenyan border. It’s the only route that starts from this drier, less-traveled side of the mountain, offering a quieter and more remote trekking experience.

The trail passes through diverse landscapes — from dry mountain forests and alpine moorlands to the breathtaking Kibo saddle and glaciers near the summit. It’s also one of the easiest routes for acclimatization, making it ideal for those who prefer a gradual ascent and stunning solitude.

This 7-day itinerary provides ample time for acclimatization while maximizing your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft) successfully.

  1. It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
